At the REPTIC/IT REP meeting of April 2016, Nicole Haché (Coordinator-Library Services at Champlain College) conducted this workshop:
For many years, the librarians at Champlain College – St-Lambert have partnered with the Humanities department to offer required “Introduction to Library Research” and “Introduction to Citation/Plagiarism” sessions to first semester students as part of the 101 course. “Unlocking Research” was created as a complementary online tool students could refer to when needed. This online tool covers Skill 1 of the ICT Profile for College Students from topic development to the creation of their bibliographies. In addition to Unlocking Research, the last few years have brought the librarians to rethink the delivery of the Humanities sessions. From librarian led PowerPoint presentations, we have moved to self-paced Moodle based assignments with thoughts to the future creation of a “Flipped” version.
