Several REPTIC/IT REPs are currently using different web animation or dissemination tools in their community setting. The round table will give us the opportunity to share some of these tools, to address challenges encountered and to clarify the process and initial targets, as well as to describe future intentions. We will also ask ourselves: How can these tools be in synergy with those of our partners?

    The FutursProfs project; you have heard about it many times before and it is now completed. The website, developed using the CCDMD Calimero tool, includes more than 130 resources spread over 18 technological tools (blogs, wikis, Twitter, social networks, etc): introduction videos, teacher testimonials, pedagogical scenarios, simplified information process, video processes, translated documents taken from the series 7 things you should know about (Educause). Collections were put together for each type of tool, each collection becoming almost like a training module. 

    In this hands-on activity, you will become acquainted with the new site, the available resources and the collections. We would also like to introduce and validate the process for proposing new scenarios. And finally, we will introduce the ELGG installation which will be created on the Profweb site to support an emerging community.

    This activity targets new IT REPs and those who would like to become familiar with the CCDMD’s websites and software that college teachers can benefit from to enhance their teaching and learning activities. A variety of websites and software newly created by the CCDMD will be presented, including: SECRA 4 (Simulation of a communication exercise in helping relationships), Éducation spécialiséeUrgence et communication (prehospital intervention simulations)Vendeur (Sales – version for web), Netquiz Web, Activité-Projet (for children’s global development), El camino de Santiago, etc.

    An introduction to CERES, the latest tool from Vitrine technologie-éducation which allows you to search, find, aggregate and dessiminate teaching and learning resources originating from the free education and digital heritage.

    It is part of the movement of the semantic web and offers a collective catalogue of resources gathered by our partners in the College and University Network, and by other international organizations engaged in the production and collection of educational resources. During this activity, you will explore new functions, such as relational data, research on classification and equivalent taxonomies, and special features offered in advanced searches.

    Google offers a great number of tools that can be used in Education. It also has a free special program for colleges/universities called Google Apps for Education. This workshop will present the main Google tools that can be used in Education and will explain how the Google Apps for Education program works.

    The presence of technology in classrooms is growing, whether cellular phones, tablets, laptops or traditional computer labs. This situation raises more and more questions as to how to manage the classroom. This workshop aims at bringing together knowledge, case histories and solutions to better support teachers. The activity will be in three parts: a short presentation of the concepts and resources on classroom management; sharing together, in large groups, the issues and problems experienced in our colleges; and in smaller groups, exchanges to highlight effective strategies to offer our teachers. Come participate in this co-building of educational practice on a current topic in an informal and relaxed environment!

It will also be an opportunity to learn about some great achievements… Participants will be invited to identify the next actions to be taken and, if necessary, to propose other goals and actions.

We are at a crossroads concerning one of our frameworks; the ICT Profile for College Students. Many colleges have integrated the 2009 version in one or several of their programs of study. The 2014 version, the result of a major updating process, is being validated. Projects are being developed to better support colleges in their implementation of the ICT Profile.

This workshop has three goals: take possession of the 2014 version of the ICT Profile; discuss its integration in programs of study; and discovering available and upcoming tools and resources. The first part will involve all participants: presentations; feedback; open-question period and discussion. In the second part, the group will be divided in smaller groups for exchanges on the theme “To integrate or not integrate the ICT Profile, therein lies the question!”, and will conclude with a plenary review session.

    During this session Vitrine technologie-éducation will present its alliance with Mozilla Open Badges Foundation as well as the role it intends to play in promoting the use of badges in Education in Quebec. Such a badge is a digital tool to reward motivation, contribution, success, perseverance and participation in obtaining both formal and informal skills.

    In recent years, the role played by IT REPs in their colleges seems to have evolved. Their expertise as technopedagogical specialists seems to be increasingly recognized. Is this perception founded? This is what we aim to understand as part of a round table where, based on our personnal experience, we will be invited to answer questions that will allow us to know more about the role that we have in our colleges:

    Participation of the IT REP as a specialist of pedagogical integration of ICT…

    • For pedagogical interventions: How does this translate?
    • For training offered to teachers: has the offer of training and the support used to provide it changed?
    • In committees such as the technopedagogical committee, the program committee, etc. (role and responsibilities)
    • In decision making linked to the development with regard to the integration of ICT: of what nature?
    • With the pedagogical counsellors of your college.
    • In writing documents such as the strategic plan of your college.

    The EXPairTICE project is a professional development tool for college and university teachers. This project proposes consultation on technopedagogical innovation paths, with several forms of support as a complement to those paths. The name EXPairTICE emphasizes the experiential knowledge of college and university teachers who have innovated in their teaching practices. The paths present pedagogical innovations that bring into perspective the integration of ICT for teaching through participative teaching methods. This project proposes the following:
    1. The development and putting on-line of paths that bring forward an innovation implemented by a Higher Education teacher
    2. A peer-support approach in a digital learning environment developed on the EXPairTICE platform

    The presentation will demonstrate the different innovation paths while explaining the website and available resources.

    • Projet Certitude: We will explore how the questionnaires from Certitude can be made accessible in a centralized Moodle, using the LNI Standard, which allows for better control of future development of this project. Presentation of REPTIC/IT REP survey results, followed by an open discussion on REPTIC/IT REP needs and plans for the future—including ideas for next REPTIC/IT REP event, such as a theme, ideas for key note speakers, etc..

Recreational activity on the sidelines of the IT REP meeting in anticipation of a potential Virtual Reality VTE laboratory.
