Use ICTs in an efficient and responsible maner ; these five skills have become essential, whether to pursue college or university studies, to meet the demands of the labor market, or to carry out various everyday actions.

In order to encourage the mastery of these skills, the ITNetwork, in collaboration with the CCDMD, has produced five video clips that present in a fun way what these skills consist of and propose resources to develop them (soon in English).

The CAPA guide, your Counsellor to Accompany the setting up of a Pedagogical Activity integrating ICT, is hosted by Profweb. It has been designed for teachers and educational advisers. It supports the realization of a pedagogical activity integrating ICT, whether it is to specify the objectives of the activity, to put the project in place or to evaluate to what extent it contributes to improving the success students. This guide can be considered as an expert continuously available to teachers and educational advisers in the realization of a project, whether ICT or even non-ICT.

The guide is only available in French at the moment, but will be available in English shortly.

Success Factors for Successful Integration of Informational (IS) and Digital Skills (DS) into Curricula and Their Translation into Actions

Successful integration of information and digital skills into the curriculum challenges the implementation of winning conditions and requires the collaboration of various expertise. It is in this spirit of collaboration that the members of the Carrefour de la réussite (REPCAR) and the REPTIC Network met in videoconference on March 20, 2019.

The following slideshow (in French only) provides a good overview of the winning conditions and practices selected. It also gives access to the video of the meeting and proposes avenues that will be explored by the members of the two communities of practice at a future meeting.

Technopedagogical innovative practices: realization in colleges, solutions for a successful implementation

As part of a call for all to its members, the IT REP Network REPTIC has collected data on innovative technopedagogical practices carried out in colleges and, more specifically, on experimenting with the following practices: Flipped classroom 2. Active learning class 3. Virtual Reality (augmented).

The results show this:

  • Percentage of institutions that perform each type of practice
  • Solutions that can contribute to successful implementation of innovative teaching practice
  • Articles that discuss the impact of using innovative practices on student success and resources that present a set of conditions for successful implementation of these practices

CyberSelf.ca : Recognizing, Prevent, Taking Action and… promote!

Newspapers increasingly report situations of people who have experienced, often painfully, a situation of cyberbullying, damage to reputation, theft or identity theft. To inform and support students in their use of social networks, the college network provides students CyberSelf.ca.

Colleges are invited to broadcast short video clips on their establishment screens that encourage students to visit the site. Promotional capsules are available in English and French

College Badge.ca : pilot project and future projects

This year, the IT REP Network experimented with the awarding of digital badges to recognize and make known the mastery of digital skills by college students. Five colleges participated in the pilot project.

The slideshow first presents the pilot project that took place from January 2017 to June 2018: objectives, implementation steps, results, implementation challenges. Then, it gives an overview of future projects related to the granting of digital badges in the college network and the conditions associated with their success.

Quebec Education System: Welcome (finally) to the 21st century

Quebec Education System: Welcome (finally) to the 21st century is the title of the conference that will be delivered by Marc-André Girard at the IT REP meeting on April 25th, 26th and 27th. Very involved in the pedagogical integration of technologies, Mr. Girard holds a management position at Collège Beaubois. His lecture will be an opportunity to discuss the reasons for the paradigm shift, both in terms of teaching and learning.
